Missile launchers of both Israeli military and Iranian armed forces are now cooling off, following the effectivity of a ceasefire between the two warring nations, initiated by the United States (US) under President Donald Trump.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” posted Trump on Truth Social on 24 June 2025, 1:08 P.M.
Earlier today at 6:02 A.M., Trump made a breaking announcement that Israel and Iran had agreed to observe a ceasefire after the next six hours, during the effectivity of which, both sides were expected to be peaceful and respectful.
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
Reports show that the US successfully convinced Israel to take a halt of projectiles strike against Iran, where Israel acceded under the condition that the Islamic state would stop its missile offensive.
Qatar, for its part, led the persuasion of the Iranian government to join the US-proposed ceasefire.
Iran foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi earlier stated on a Twitter post the absence of a ceasefire in Iran’s plans.
“As Iran has repeatedly made clear: Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around. As of now, there is NO "agreement" on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations. However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later,” said Araghchi.
In a follow-up post, however, the Iranian foreign affairs chief indicated that Iran recognized and was inclined to participate in the military-assault time-out.
“The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4am. Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute," expressed Araghchi.
Prior to the effectivity of the ceasefire, both the Israeli military and Iranian armed forces made their final missile blows to each other’s territory.
Iran also fired at American military camps in Qatar and Iraq in response to the US’s surprise aerial strike to three Iranian nuclear facilities two days ago.
The US-backed ceasefire in the military clash between Israel and Iran, which was framed to run for hours, is seen as the gateway to the conclusion of the 12-day-old armed conflict between the two military powers in the Middle East.
